Drummer I Percussionist I Composer
As an artist, I focus on the development of drums and percussion through new and explorative means. Utilizing my own distinctive palette of advanced and extended techniques, I work to develop my music into a unique interpretation that best represents my artistic expression. This emphasis centers on evolving and pushing the boundaries of drumming as an art form and thus far, has led me to building my own instruments or using percussion instruments in new and unconventional ways. In this process, I have developed a variety of unique playing techniques for these instruments. Examples of this include my "Stringed Tam Tam" or “Stringed Snare Drums”. Through my artistic practice, I have spent a vast amount of time building these techniques and pursuing new concepts, ideas, and methods in order to find out how they can blossom; not only compositionally or sonically, but as well as how I too can grow while pushing these instruments to their limits. This process is very important for my artistic training and development, with the intended goal of bringing my imagination into reality.

Biography
Arian Robinson (b. 1992 - ) is a percussionist, improviser, teacher, and composer currently residing in Leipzig, Germany. His work focuses on the development of the spectrum of sound and timbre through drums and percussion instruments. Through new and creative techniques, Robinson has developed his sound into a unique interpretation in the contemporary music world. Often using reverse engineering (acoustic sounds, sounding electronic through extended techniques), his musicianship has been applauded for its originality. Aside from these techniques, his interests can be found in many different aspects within and outside of music. Always searching for new ideas, his utilization of raw materials and noise, have had a profound influence in his approach to percussion and sound design.
From this driven desire to find a deeper level of artistic transformation; Robinson has performed and worked with various ensembles such as Ensemble Reflexion K, Ensemble Radar, Schlagwerk Köln, Crossing 32nd street, as well as composers such as Dieter Mack, Gerald Eckert, and Peter Ivan Edwards to name a few. As a drummer Robinson has performed and toured with bands ranging in styles from hardcore punk, to techno and electronic, to jazz fusion, and afro beat.
